Double Eyelid Revision

Asymmetric Double Eyelids

Asymmetry cannot be properly evaluated until at least 6 months after the initial surgery, once the swelling has fully subsided.
If the asymmetry remains severe after that, both eyes should be corrected to the height the patient desires.
The surgical method varies depending on the cause, and operating on only one eye can lead to asymmetry recurring later,
so revising both eyes is generally recommended.

HOW?: Revision surgery is performed to match the eye-opening strength and fixation strength of both eyes. In some cases only one eye may be operated on, but when eye-opening strength is weak, operating on only one side makes it more likely that the other side will weaken again,
so operating on both eyes is generally recommended.
