What Is Permanent Lower Eyelid Surgery?

Lower Eyelid Surgery(2 months)

Lower eyelid surgery lowers the lower eyelid at a 45° angle.
With lower eyelid surgery, the eyes become larger and the outer corners are lowered,
transforming fierce-looking eyes into a gentle, soft appearance.

Precise angle adjustment is possible step by step,
customized to the eye's shape and size.

Lower Eyelid Surgery Ideal Candidates

  • Upturned outer corners
    that look fierce

  • Small eyes with
    very little
    sclera visible
  • Short vertical
    eye length
  • Want to change to
    a soft and
    gentle appearance
  • Lateral canthoplasty alone
    has limitations in
    extending length and
    enlarging eye size

Adjust to Your Desired Angle

Step-by-step Adjustable Lower Eyelid Surgery
SISUN Plastic Surgery's lower eyelid surgery enables delicate angle-by-angle adjustments,
gently improving the eye appearance with a customized procedure for each individual.

While conventional lower eyelid surgery only pulled downward, often resulting in unnatural outcomes,
SISUN's Permanent Canthoplasty lowers the lower eyelid at a 45-degree angle,

gradually adjusting the depth of traction for a natural and gentle eye appearance.
Natural "~" shape at a 45-degree angle!

Scar-free Lower Eyelid Surgery
Permanent Lower Eyelid Surgery is not a procedure that cuts the skin to lower the outer eye corners,
but rather uses a method of hooking sutures onto the capsulopalpebral fascia (CPF) and pulling.
Since no skin incision is made, it prevents the lower eyelid
from lifting or developing incision scars.
Long-lasting, Strong Fixation
Lower eyelid surgery is a traction (pulling and fixing) procedure.
When sutures are hooked onto the posterior septum or part of the fat tissue below the eye,
the method is simple with minimal bruising and swelling, but
the force of opening and closing the eyes can easily return the eyelid to its original position.
Therefore, at SISUN Plastic Surgery, even though the method is more difficult
and takes longer, sutures are hooked onto the CPF (Capsulopalpebral Fascia)
for traction.
With this method, the results last a lifetime without worry of loosening.

Dr. Shin's Note Lower Eyelid Surgery

Click photos with the button to visit the blog for more details.
Case 15
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(2 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The patient wanted a rounder, larger, and softer eye shape.

Surgery Note

We expanded the outer eye area with lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery,
creating the effect of a lowered outer corner and a softer eye shape.

Case 16
Lateral Canthoplasty(Revision)+Lower Eyelid Surgery(1 month)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The white area at the outer corner was very narrow,
and the outer eye corner was upturned.

Surgery Note

To open the outer corner as much as possible,
we performed lateral canthoplasty with lower eyelid surgery.
Even without additional procedures, the eyes became larger and the outer corners lowered.

Case 17
Lateral Canthoplasty(Revision)+Lower Eyelid Surgery(6 weeks)
Before
After
Diagnosis

Both the inner and outer corners were closed,
and the near-hidden double eyelid line made the eyes look stuffy.

Surgery Note

We expanded the outer corners with lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery,
then added upper epicanthoplasty and buried-suture double eyelid surgery
to create a clear in-out double eyelid line.

Case 18
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(5 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The eyes were not especially small,
but the white area at the outer corners was limited, making them look stuffy.

Surgery Note

By opening the outer corners with lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery,
the white area became properly visible and the eyes looked refreshed.

Case 19
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(1 month)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The angle difference between the inner and outer corners was pronounced,
creating a fierce impression, with slight inner-eye hollowness.

Surgery Note

The patient wanted a very open look, but the sunken eye shape had limits.
Rather than focusing only on eye size, we maximized lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery
to lower the outer corners.

Case 20
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(2 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The upturned outer corners created a typical fierce-looking eye shape.

Surgery Note

We performed lower eyelid surgery, pulling the lower eyelid at a 45-degree angle
to make the raised outer corners appear as lowered as possible.

Case 21
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(7 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

Compared with the horizontal length, the vertical eye height was short,
giving the eyes a sleepy appearance.

Surgery Note

By expanding the outer white area with lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery,
the eye shape became clearer and the sleepy-looking eyelids were corrected.

Case 22
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery+Upper Epicanthoplasty+Non-incisional Ptosis Correction(3 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

Because the pupils were partly covered by the eyelids,
the vertical eye height looked short and the overall eye shape looked stuffy.

Surgery Note

We expanded the outer corners with lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery,
and lifted the eyelids with non-incisional ptosis correction,
creating a more refreshed eye shape.

Case 23
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(2 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The double eyelid line and lacrimal lake exposure were already balanced,
but the patient wanted wider, longer-looking eyes.

Surgery Note

Because the natural eye shape was already attractive,
we preserved that look while expanding the outer corners with lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery.

Case 24
Lateral Canthoplasty(Revision)+Lower Eyelid Surgery(4 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The upturned outer corners made the eyes look fierce.
The patient also wanted the outer corners lowered as much as possible.

Surgery Note

Although lateral canthoplasty had been performed three years earlier, the effect was limited.
This time, we combined lateral canthoplasty with lower eyelid surgery
to maximize the eye-opening effect.

Case 25
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(4 months)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The patient wanted lower eyelid surgery to create a gentle wave-like curve,
so we planned the surgery within a range that would avoid three-white eyes.

Surgery Note

Through lateral canthoplasty and lower eyelid surgery,
we opened the eyes as much as possible and created the wave-like lower eyelid curve the patient wanted.

Case 26
Lateral Canthoplasty+Lower Eyelid Surgery(1 month)
Before
After
Diagnosis

The horizontal eye length was short compared with the vertical height,
and the outer corners were upturned.

Surgery Note

We performed lateral canthoplasty together with lower eyelid surgery,
expanding the outer corner and 45-degree lower area to lengthen the eyes and lower the outer corners.
